BLACK LIGHTNING AND BLACK THUNDER

Get ready, get set... GO! I'm about to take off on a 9-day trip to southern Colorado. I'm so excited, I can't contain myself. The trip is a multi-purpose one. Of course I want to see my grandson, who is 9 months old, and my son and daughter-in-law, who recently experienced the down side of parenting when the whole family got the stomach flu all at once.

I am also going to Colorado to find out -- once and for all -- where I want to live, and possibly to pick out a house. Will it be Pagosa Springs, or Durango, or somewhere in between?

Spirit just seems to be guiding me in this direction. I knew last September, when I was there for just three hours, that I wanted to make Pagosa Springs my home one day. I met some new lightworker friends and everything just felt right.

It has been six months since Ethan passed and our house here in Ohio went on the market. This week was the first positive response I've had after a showing -- I have a very good feeling there may be an offer, and if there is, I will probably take it, as long as I have enough funds to purchase another house.

My pets, Ranger and Jessica, know something big is happening. Animals can be very perceptive, and both of them know what it means when I pull the hot pink suitcase set out from under the bed and start piling things inside them. They have both grown extremely agitated.

Jessica is my black cat. Ethan nicknamed her "Black Lightning" because she can streak across your path like lightning. That cat is FAST. Then there's Ranger, who's black with a white collar (collie fashion) and only a stub of a tail. We nicknamed him "Black Thunder" because of his bark. Ranger may be a chicken at heart, but he sure can sound ferocious whenever somebody comes. I feel safe just having him around.

Fortunately, I found someone who is going to house-sit for me while I'm in Colorado having fun. Ranger and Jessica will be able to carry on in their lightning-and-thunder fashion with the comfort of having a very nice woman stay here and tend to their needs.

It's also a good situation for the chickens, particularly since "Spot." my spotted Sussex hen, has decided to set on a clutch of eggs like she did at this time last year.

Good things are ahead -- I just KNOW IT!
